CLONES FAMINE COMMEMORATION DAY

Ulster's longest running annual Famine Commemoration will take place in 'The Bully Acre', Scotshouse Road, Clones on May 19th - Parking available.

This event acknowledges the lives lost during 'An Gorta Mor' or Ireland's Great Hunger, and is organized by the Clones Famine Committee. Attendees are encouraged to bring wildflowers, which following a reading and quiet reflection will be scattered throughout the graveyard in memory of those interred within.

Afterwards refreshments in The Round Tower Bar, Ball Alley, Clones. This is a free and non denominational event, and everyone is welcome to attend.
